Miss Grant has produced what is almost the black equivalent of a flamenco show and it seems to be a mixture of a block party and a revival meeting. Her music leans heavily on traditional black sources, such as the blues, calypsos and spirituals, but from these influences she has written a charming and lively score and her lyrics, whether about love or the ghetto, have sweetness and wit. Thursday and Friday: 7-9pm. Saturday: 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Admission: $5 per person.

When selecting wine to serve with the medley of flavors at a holiday dinner, the key is to balance tastes and intensity of flavors. It is also essential to match the wine not just to the meat or main dish, but also to the way it is prepared, as seasonings or the cooking method can affect a pairing selection.
