Christmas season is in full swing. Carols are playing non-stop on the radio, stores are filled with shoppers, trees are up and decorated, and beautiful lights are on display at houses around the county. Really take the time to immerse yourself in the holiday by attending a magical Christmas concert this weekend.

The 38th Annual Whaley Jam begins this Friday, December 6 at 6pm. Head to Jester’s Lounge (3112 N. Center Rd., Flint) for a full night of local rock. Entrance is $10 or present a new, unwrapped toy. The concert continues on Saturday starting at 5pm. The concert features 17 local bands benefitting Whaley’s children.

On Saturday, December 7 the Gaines Community Band will be conducting a fun Christmas concert at the Genesee District Library’s Fenton-Winegarden location at 200 E. Caroline St., in Fenton. The concert begins at 1pm. The Gaines Community Band is a collection of music professionals and has been a great addition to Genesee County’s music traditions for over 40 years. While in Fenton, you might as well take the time to enjoy Fenton JingleFest as the celebration runs 10am-10pm, for additional holiday mirth.

On Sunday, December 8, at 3pm, St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church in Grand Blanc presents the “Our Favorite Time of Year” concert featuring the Song of the Lakes Sweet Adeline Chorus & Flint Arrowhead Barbershop Chorus. The show includes both secular and religious holiday favorites as well as new numbers. The groups will combine to sing “Oh Holy Night” in eight parts. Following the concert will be an Afterglow party with Christmas treats and conversation.

Have a great time this weekend at a holiday concert!
