Ciao is the third restaurant in the family-owned-and-operated chain that is well known for its sumptuous Italian cuisine, according to Toma Vulaj, Manager of the Fenton location. When the owners were choosing a site for their third venture, the family-oriented, close-knit community of Fenton was the perfect choice.
On April 24, the Grand Blanc Chamber of Commerce will host the 8th Annual Teddy Bear Ball at Genesys Conference & Banquet Center. According to Chamber President, Jet Kilmer, the event will feature live music, food, fun and a dancing competition to benefit the Genesee County Teddy Bear Patrol.
It’s fitting that the former Patsy Lou Williamson Automotive Group, now Shea Automotive Group in Flint Township, is owned by a woman. Stacy Fields, along with partners, purchased the dealership in May of 2019. “I thank Patsy Lou Williamson and the late Don Williamson for the opportunity,” says Fields. “We implemented new management to build our own unique team.” According to Fields, Shea Automotive wanted to improve the culture at the dealership and be more customer oriented. “We feel like we are making great strides,” she reports. “We have spent the last six months perfecting our foundation so we can deliver better service to the community.”

The Greater Flint Health Coalition, a nonprofit focused on improving the health of citizens in Flint and Genesee County, is relocating its headquarters to downtown Flint with support from the Michigan Strategic Fund, the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) announced today in a news statement. The project is anticipated to generate a total capital investment of $2.8 million and create 20 full-time direct jobs in the healthcare sector.
On Saturday, February 29, the Flint Public Library will have its last day of service before renovations begin at the original location and throw a big party in celebration. The library will open at 9am and close at 6pm. The kick-off party will run from noon-4pm. Admission to the party is free. The library will be closed March 2020 and April 2020 and will reopen in its temporary location at Courtland Center in Burton in May 2020. Renovations are projected to be complete in August of 2021.

On Thursday, February 27, the Fenton Village Players will premiere “Of Mice and Men” at the Fenton Village Theatre – V. Sybyl Auditorium at 7pm. On Saturday, February 29, Adopt-A-Pet Fenton hosts the annual Wags & Whiskers in the Woods fundraiser at Camp Copneconic. The event begins at 5pm.
