It will be revived this year and take place during the State of Michigan’s Free Fishing Weekend on June 13-14. The contest will be held differently this year due to Covid-19. This year, feel free to fish ANYWHERE in the Flint River Watershed. So, dust off your favorite fishing spot and share your catch on social media with the one or more hashtags – #FishTheBricks2020, #FishWhisperer, #ReelChamp – or share directly on the Flint River Watershed Coalition event page https://www.facebook.com/events/287426772650643/. Submissions can also be emailed to adarzi@flintriver.org.

Swimming through tropical waters offers a bevy of magnificent sights and marine life. Schools of fish swirl around the sandy bottom. Turtles lazily paddle in search of food or a mate. Eels pop in and out of shipwrecks and other shelter. And throughout the journey, the colors are brilliant. It’s a whole new world under the waves … and it’s beautiful. The Dive Shop in Flint offers adventurous individuals the chance to visit and experience the depths live and in technicolor.
