47th Annual St. John Applefest

0

It’s been a tradition for Fenton families for nearly five decades. Every September, St. John the Evangelist of Fenton hosts Applefest, one of the largest fall festivals in Michigan. This year, the event will be held Thurs. Sept. 12- Sun. Sept. 15, and attracts over 35,000 visitors from all over to enjoy delicious food, entertainment, games, rides, and of course, apple pie!

As its name suggests, apples figure prominently throughout Applefest. You will find apple dumplings, apple cider, frozen apple cider, apple crisp, and apple pie. More than 2,600 freshly-baked pies are sold every year, made with apples purchased from area orchards.

Festival-goers will enjoy carnival rides, kiddie games, a bounce house, ice cream booth, face painting and cake walks. Test your luck with games at The Apple Tree booth, compete in the Apple Pie Contest, and find a deal at the Apple Pie Auction. You will find tasty food at the Food Tent, including tacos, grilled brats and sausages, elephant ears, the famous Padre’s Chili and much more!

There’s fun for all at the St. John Applefest! Adults will enjoy a Nite in Reno at the Activity Center, Bingo in the Knights of Columbus Hall, and live music in the Entertainment Tent. Performing are: BonDion on Thursday, Friday: WestFall, and Rook on Saturday. Football and NASCAR on the big screen on Saturday and Sunday afternoon.
