When Annie’s husband John dies of leukemia, she and best friend Chris resolve to raise money for the hospital. They persuade four fellow WI members to pose for an “alternative” calendar, with help from the hospital porter and amateur photographer Lawrence. An Evening of Song Celebrating World Voice Day, Flint School of Performing Arts presents Kim Streby and faculty members of the voice department at 7pm. The Chieftains were formed in Ireland in 1962 by Paddy Moloney, one of the top traditional folk musicians in Ireland and around the world. Their ability to transcend musical boundaries to blend tradition with modern music has notably hailed them as one of the most renowned and revered musical groups to this day.
