This Saturday, October 5 at the Dort Federal Event Center Flint’s own Clarissa Shields will fight for the WBO Junior Middleweight title against Ivana Habazin. Shields looks to become the first to win world championships in three weight divisions in the least number of bouts. The fight will be aired live on Showtime.

Both fighters are extremely confident going into the bout with Habazin stating that her goal is to knock out Shields and that she is unaffected fighting in Flint. Shields of course begs to differ. She has never been knocked out and was knocked off her feet only once in her professional career. Shields enters the fight with a record of 9-0-0, one of only seven boxers in history to hold all four world titles (WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO) and has won back-to-back Olympic gold medals. Habazin enters the fight with a record of 20-3-0, and has held the IBO Middleweight and IBF Welterweight titles. The event will feature 6-more matchups featuring boxers from Saginaw, Detroit and Troy Albring of Mt. Morris.

Head to the Dort Federal Event Center and support one of our own as she attempts to make history! Tickets are still available but going fast. The bell rings at 7pm this Saturday night!
