Michigan Search & Rescue Fundraiser this Sunday, January 12

If you are feeling a little stir crazy this Sunday, January 12, why not head out to the Fenton Winery & Brewery to support Michigan Search & Rescue! From 1-3pm enjoy a delicious buffet including salad, pasta, cheese bread and select Fenton Winery & Brewery pizzas. The cost is $20 per adult and $10 per child (children under 10) and all entry fees support Michigan Search and Rescue (MISAR). Cash only.

“MISAR is an all-volunteer missing persons response team that works directly with law enforcement. Available 24/7 throughout Michigan and the Great Lakes areas. Michigan Search and Rescue dogs are trained in specific disciplines including Air Scent/Wilderness dogs, Human Remains Detection, Trailing, and Disaster. Each one of MISAR’s dogs belong specifically to the handler who trains them. Handlers and field support alike are committed to providing trained and certified resources to assist in finding missing persons. All of our members are unpaid volunteers and provide their own finances to support their training.”

Other ways to help MISAR in their work

  1. Allow MISAR to train in a vacant building or in acreage on your property.
  2. If a member of a service organization or in need of community service hours, you can volunteer to “hide” for the dogs.
  3. Shop at AmazonSmile and donate to MISAR.
