Linden Ice Fishing Tournament Hits the Ice this Weekend!

With the recent cold snap, it looks like the ice will be ready on Lobdell and Byram Lakes in Linden. On Sunday, February 16, the 4th Annual Linden Ice Fishing Tournament will take place on Lobdell and Byram Lakes from 7am to 5pm. Those wishing to compete or just have a fun day with the family can register online at until 4pm today. Registration will reopen on Sunday from 7am to 10pm at the Loose Senior Center located at 707 N. Bridge St., Linden. All registered adults and children are entered in the raffle for door prizes and gift baskets. Prices for fishing are $10 for adults and $5 for kids (14 and under).

Fishing categories are Pike, Bluegill and Crappie. Cash prizes will be awarded. Only adults will be entered for big prize giveaways like a shanty, grill and power tools.

A Chili Cookoff will take place at the end of the competition day from 3-5pm.

This winter has been fleeting and ice has been rare. Take advantage of this opportunity this Sunday to have some winter fun on the ice before the season is over. Good luck to all competitors!
