Want to stay healthy this winter? Mark your calendars for Genesee Health Plan’s Drive-Thru Flu Immunization event on October 13!

Genesee Health Plan will host its Fourth Annual Drive-Thru Flu Immunization event on Friday, October 13 from 3-6PM at the GHP office located in Flint at 2171 S. Linden Rd.

“Our Drive-Thru Flu Immunization event is a convenient and free opportunity for Genesee County residents to get their flu shots,” said E. Yvonne Lewis, GHP Director of Outreach. “We encourage everyone to come out to the event so they can stay healthy throughout the winter months.”

Attendees can drive through one of Genesee Health Plan’s heated drive-in service bays or go inside GHP’s office for their flu shots. Information on health and other resources will be offered, as well as info on the importance of immunizations. Attendees will also have an opportunity to speak with a GHP Health Navigator to sign up for health care coverage under the Genesee Health Plan, Healthy Michigan Plan, Medicaid or special coverage for those impacted by the water crisis, depending on eligibility.

Those unable to attend can obtain a flu shot from their physician, during an upcoming immunization event, or at several health centers and pharmacies throughout Genesee County. Flu shots are covered by the GHP, Healthy Michigan and the Michigan Health Insurance Marketplace (ACA).

The Genesee County Immunization Drive is a project of GHP and the Genesee County Health Department. For information, visit geneseehealth plan.org or call 844.232.7740.
