The Association for Ambulatory Behavioral Healthcare (AABH) recently recognized the McLaren Flint Adolescent Partial Hospitalization Program as a finalist for National Partial Hospital Program of the Year. Mark Sak, Program Manager and Ken Deighton, Director of Behavioral Health Services accepted the award on July 16 at the AABH Annual Conference in Long Beach, CA.
The Adolescent Partial Hospital Program provides intensive psychiatric treatment for youth aged 12-17 at the McLaren Oak Bridge Center in Flint Township. The young people involved in the program work with an interdisciplinary group of mental health professionals with the goal of preventing psychiatric hospitalization and promoting recovery from behavioral health disorders.
“Our community partnerships are vital to the success of this program,” Sak said. “By coordinating care with the Genesee Health System (Community Mental Health), the Genesee County Intermediate School District, and other outpatient services, these youth have the best possible chance at successfully overcoming the many barriers to recovery.”
Alongside Sak and Deighton, the program is led by McLaren Flint psychiatrists, including registered nurses, social workers, a behavioral health technician and licensed professional counselors. Services are provided six hours per day, five days per week.
