Genesys Regional Medical Center filled their nature trails with more than 500 runners and walkers when they hosted their 13th-annual Dash for a Difference on September 28. The outdoor course in Grand Blanc Township wound through the Health Park’s 478 acres of woodlands and wildlife, which were full of seasonal color for the event.

Sponsored by Swartz Ambulance, Dash for a Difference raises funds for Genesys Hospice patients. Reverence Home Health & Hospice provides hospice care services – both residential and in the home – through an exclusive partnership with Genesys Hospice. Services include comprehensive home-based hospice care and support for terminally ill patients.

According to Genesys Marketing Director Cindy Ficorelli, the event included a 5K Run competition, 5K Walk, and a Kid’s One-Mile Fitness Run. An Indoor Fitness Fun Run for kids was also a big hit. The top three finishers in each adult age group received awards, and all kid’s race participants received an award for finishing. The overall 5K Run winner this year was Kreg Hatfield and the overall 5K Walk winner was Rick Huber.
