Our Champion Flint City Bucks are set to begin their second year at Atwood Stadium in defense of the USL2 National Championship. The Bucks won the championship last year at home in front of a league record crowd and look to repeat the experience.
Flint’s USL2 season kicks off on May 16 with a home game against Grand Rapids FC. GR FC is one of five new teams added to the USL2 Great Lakes Division to compete with Flint City. The other four are AFC Ann Arbor, Louisville City U23, Oakland County FC and South Bend Lions. (To make room for the new additions the West Virginia Alliance and Chicago FC were moved to new divisions and will not compete with Flint City during the regular USL2 season).
This season Atwood will also play host to the Michigan Milk Cup Quarter Final Game and the illustrious USASA Hank Steinbrecher Cup (HSC) featuring the top four amateur teams in the nation. (The field has not been set but the four teams in contention are Flint City Bucks, Newtown Pride FC, Cleveland FC and Reading United.) The Flint City Bucks have won the last three Steinbrecher cups and will surely compete for their fourth straight!
Make sure to get to Atwood Stadium this summer to support the Flint City Bucks!
