The weekend may be a little rainy but that isn’t going to stop the denizens of Greater Flint from having a good time!  We have a wonderful amount of music, art and sports on display this weekend. Mott Community College presents: Mott, Motown & More

Enjoy an evening of fun and exciting Flint & Genesee celebrity lip syncing. All proceeds go towards assisting students with their academic goals at Mott Community College. Second Friday ARTWALK

Enjoy delicious food, tasty beverages, live music and the works of various artists on display throughout a variety of Downtown Flint galleries and businesses. Stop by the Greater Flint Arts Council at 816 S. Saginaw St. for a copy of this month’s walking tour, while supplies last. 6-9pm.

Flint School of Performing Arts Jazz Concert

Presented by the Flint School of Performing Arts, enjoy an evening dedicated to the sounds of Jazz celebrating the music of Wayne Shorter and featuring the Detroit Jazz Collective: Roger Jones (Piano), De’Sean Jones (Tenor Saxophone), Dwight Adams (Trumpet), Vincent Chandler (Trombone) and Alex White (Drums), with special guests from Jazz At Lincoln Center Mike Sailors (Trumpet) and Endea Owens, (Bass). Longway Planetarium Second Saturday Trivia Night

MILK Cup Tournament Quarter-Final: Flint City Bucks vs. Michigan Stars

Be a part of the phenomenon taking Flint by storm! Last week 4700 fans packed Atwood Stadium for the Bucks debut and the atmosphere was incredible. Support your new hometown team at beautiful and historic Atwood Stadium. Saturday’s match ticket will also include a special, post-game firework display courtesy of Dort Federal Credit Union. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children. Kickoff is at 7pm. Gates open at 5pm.

Applewood Estate Mother’s Day Celebration

Treat Mom to a special day by celebrating Mother’s Day at Applewood! Spend the day in the beautiful Applewood gardens with a free carnation and photo opportunity from 11am-5pm. Strolling tours of the first floor of the house will be available from 11:30am- 4:30pm. A walking garden tour begins at 12pm. Also, enjoy a Taste of Applewood during your visit — all made with ingredients grown at Applewood. Applewood Estate is the historic home of automotive pioneer Charles Stewart Mott, a founding partner of General Motors. Admission is Free.
