Dear Readers,

Finally! The great state of Michigan has been blessed with spring weather – well, at least the lower half. I mean, the snow-removal people have to make a living, but come on!

I’ve often been asked how our team comes up with enough engaging and relevant content to fill 100 pages every month. It’s easy! Flint is a city alive with activities and events, not to mention its great citizens who are opening businesses, helping each other and achieving remarkable success. We stay busy sharing their stories and much more … and this month’s issue is no exception.

Our “My Community” features profile many outstanding people, starting with the 2019 Genesee Regional Women’s Hall of Fame Inductees, followed by a must-read piece about our two new Genesee Circuit Court judges, Elizabeth A. Kelly and Brian S. Pickell. Read about a couple reaching out to help community members “keep it rollin’” by providing mobile bike repair services and education. And, a team of people is investing in Flint properties and hopes to shine a positive light on the city by producing a TV show called “Just Renting.”

I’m happy to have an opportunity to highlight Sargent’s Title Company, owned by my friends (also neighbors), Mike and Tracy Sargent. The family has enjoyed 52 years of business success in Downtown Flint. Mike’s father, Larry, founded Sargent’s in 1966 and the staff includes a woman who has been there since Day One. Wow! Great story.

Another never-ending source of articles is the “My Eats” category. This month, a few local chefs share recipes for a delicious Mothers’ Day brunch. And, we’ve dedicated several pages to our Greater Flint Dining Guide – check out the lists and plan to try a new place soon.

One of our most-read stories online is our “My History” series – this month, Part V takes us through the ‘50s, as Flint became a shining example of community and culture.

Our great content has made us Greater Flint’s No. 1 magazine and we’re growing every month, thanks to the support of our advertisers. I hope you support the businesses that make our publication possible.

Many area businesses campaigned through April for votes in our prestigious City’s Choice Awards and we will announce the winners in our June issue. Also next month, I will announce more BIG news: My City is getting ready to deliver stories in a whole new way … stay tuned!

Thanks for reading.
