Visit Michigan Renaissance Festival for the Highland Fling

The Michigan Renaissance Festival is in full swing on weekends through the month of August until September 29. For years, the annual festival has provided Holly with a unique venue that regularly attracts more than 250,000 visitors from all over. Patrons will enjoy the sights and sounds of this 17-acre village, Holly Grove, complete with building reproductions of Renaissance shops, taverns and a beautiful castle. Continuous entertainment takes place on the streets and on 17 themed stages featuring comedy, theater shows and music.

There is a variety of adult and children games, people-powered rides and full-contact armored jousting tournaments for patrons to enjoy. Also, enjoy fabulous food and browse the Crafter Marketplace where more 300 artisans display their gallery-quality works for sale. You may want to skip breakfast and save your appetite for the fresh baked goods, soup in a bread bowl, Scotch eggs, apple dumplings and the famous turkey legs that are cooked over an open flame.

The theme for this upcoming weekend is Highland Fling. The Highland Games will have patrons cheering for their favorite athlete in this eight series event. Championships on Saturday and State Masters on Sunday. The Celtic Village features special vendors unique to Highland Fling.
