Genesee Health Plan Trunk or Treat

Genesee County Health Plan is excited to have its 1st annual Trunk or Treat from 5:30 – 7:30pm. Children are encouraged to dress up in costume and visit each of the candy stations in our parking lot! Extended health care enrollment hours also until 7:30pm. There is also a water giveaway for Flint residents. Admission is free.

Fenton Village Players presents: Leaving Iowa

The story centers on Don Browning, a middle-aged writer who returns home and decides to finally take his father’s ashes to his childhood home, as requested. But when Don discovers Grandma’s house is now a grocery store, he begins traveling across Iowa in search of a proper resting place. As he drives those familiar roads, the story shifts back and forth from the present to memories of the annual, torturous vacations of Don’s youth. Ultimately, Don’s existential journey leads him to reconcile his past and present at an unpredictable and perfect final destination. Friday and Saturday 7-9pm. Sunday 2-4pm.

Longway Planetarium: The Ooky Spooky Light Show

Get ready to have a spook-tacular time! Parents and children can come out to enjoy fun and spooky visuals created here in Flint by Longway Planetarium’s talented team of artists and programmers. This program is a perfect way to celebrate the season, and is sure to become a holiday classic for Mid-Michigan families. The fun starts Wed. Oct 2 and runs through Thurs. Oct. 31. Show times: 4pm daily, 7pm Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. No 4pm show Oct. 8. No 7pm show Oct. 31.

Crossroads Village: Ghosts and Goodies

Make your way to Crossroads Village for one of autumn’s greatest traditions. Enjoy treats and tricks, cider and donuts, little monsters and big fun for the whole family. From an Enchanted Forest to the magic show at the Colwell Opera House or the straw maze and treat stops throughout the village, it’s sure to put all in the spirit of the season. Don’t forget to top off your visit with a 40-minute ride through the autumn countryside on the famous Huckleberry Railroad Ghost Train Express or a cruise around Mott Lake on the Genesee Belle. It is highly recommended that you purchase your train ride early as they often sell out in advance. Friday: 5-9pm. Saturday and Sunday: 12-9pm.

Flint Children’s Museum: A Night at the Haunted Museum

Skeletons, witches and ghosts are invited to the Flint Children’s Museum! This year’s special Halloween Party will be A Night at the Haunted (but not too haunted) Museum. Food and special activities will be provided. Admission $8 per person, $3 per member and 50 percent off to adults in costume. Admission includes two slices of pizza, a beverage and a treat. 6-8pm.

Applewood Estate presents: Halloween in the Gardens

Applewood Estate is the historic home of automotive pioneer Charles Stewart Mott, a founding partner of General Motors. Join Applewood for Halloween in the Gardens, their final event of the 2019 season. Come dressed in your family friendly Halloween costumes, and look for tricks and treats throughout the grounds. Enjoy Halloween-themed story time at 11:30am, a costume parade, make-and-take activities (while supplies last), mini pumpkins and more! Sample a “Taste of Applewood” made with ingredients grown at the estate as you stroll the gardens and enjoy the fall decor. No reservations needed. Tours are on a first-come, first-served basis or take a guided tour of the fall gardens at 12pm. Admission is free.
