Celebrating the 7 Principles of Kwanzaa
Flint Odyssey House is hosting an event celebrating the Nguzo Saba with the Flint community. Each day they will have a different presenter who will facilitate the daily principle. The free event is open to the public and a meal and gift is provided for children every day. Come and learn what Kwanzaa is all about! The event is hosted by Artistic Visions Enterprise.

Flint Children’s Museum “Noon” Year Balloon Drop

The New McCree Theater presents: “Pushout: The Criminalization of Black Girls in Schools”
This is a feature-length documentary which takes a close look at the educational, judicial and societal disparities facing Black Girls. Inspired by the groundbreaking book of the same name by renowned scholar, Monique W. Morris, Ed.D., the documentary confronts the ways in which the misunderstanding of Black girlhood has led to excessive punitive discipline which in turn disrupts one of the most important factors in their lives, their education. A panel discussion and Q&A will take place immediately following the screening. The panelists will be prominent local community leaders. 2-6pm.
