Today will be a busy day outside at the Flint Farmers’ Market (FFM), according to Market Manager Karianne Martus. FFM has designated the outdoor pavilion as a GROWERS ONLY space on Tuesdays from 10am-2pm in an effort to bring more farmers with local and organic produce to the Flint community. “Now in its fourth week, things are starting to pick up with the peak of the Michigan growing season just a month away,” states Martus in a news release.

The farmers who will be at the GROWERS ONLY market today include: BeeNatural Farms, Cindy Mead; Maria’s Garden, Maria Carlin; MarySam’s Garden, Labria Lane; New Day Gardens, Jean Shingledecker; Red Bird Farms, Sandy and Ashley Mroz; Simply Salads, Robert Sollman & Sanilac ISD and Winterfresh Greenhouse, Pat Gillette

“Customers have been asking for more locally grown and organic produce and we are committed to meeting this need,” says Martus. “We had some bigger plans for the Tuesday market, but with COVID we had to pivot a bit. We have a safe shopping environment with really great new farmers and a few of the old favorites as well. Hopefully we can add more family-oriented educational activities and programs next year to enhance the overall experience for our shoppers.”

The GROWERS ONLY Market is outside in the pavilion every Tuesday from 10-am-2pm.  For more information visit the market Facebook page.
