My most memorable outfit is a pair of tailored black trousers, navy leopard-print shirt and sequin bow tie (because it was holiday season). I bought the outfit in NYC and proposed to my fiancé in Central Park that day.

My go-to core components: dress shirt, unbuttoned top button with loosely knotted, solid-color, skinny tie. It’s versatile. I also have a somewhat renowned, banana-yellow sport coat that I break out on only the most special of occasions.
My style role models are:
It’s a weird mix of Eddie Vedder, Rashida Jones, C.M. Punk, Cardi B, Hunter S. Thompson, Randy Savage and Rasheed Wallace. I don’t necessarily dress like any of these people, but I would want them to think I’m interesting and approve of me. More locally, if Kristie Brahce from Le Rouge Salon in Grand Blanc thinks something you’re wearing is cool, then there is a 100 percent chance it is cool.

An $18 pleather motorcycle jacket that I bought last year on Amazon.

My brick-by-brick mentality for outfits requires a lot of bargain shopping: T.J. Maxx, Goodwill, Old Navy, any clearance rack.

I have no hating to add to the world and support every trend. If dressing a certain way makes you feel good, do it! All looks are good looks.

I almost exclusively shop at second-hand stores like Goodwill and Wears Like New. You can find so many unique things and if you have an eye for style, it’s not that difficult to put a great outfit together for just a few dollars.

Peasant-style tops – I adore the bell sleeves and feminine feel.

If a style isn’t for me, then maybe someone else enjoys it. I think people should wear what makes them happy!

My mom and my grandma both had careers and dressed for work every day “to the nines,” as grandma would say. I remember that growing up, and it’s inspired me to put my best and most fashionable foot forward whenever possible.

My first purchase with my first paycheck back in 1988: a red, A-line swing coat with leopard-print collar and cuffs from The Limited. I still have it and still wear it!
