Genesys Regional Medical Center recently welcomed a new pediatrician to its Downtown Flint Health Center as longtime pediatrician Evelyn Del Rosario, MD announced her retirement.
Dr. Bhavna Vaniawala, board-certified pediatrician, will assume care of Dr. Del Rosario’s patients.
Dr. Del Rosario retired from the Genesys Downtown Flint Health Center earlier this month after more than 20 years of taking care of children in the community. She began her employment with Flint Osteopathic Hospital in 1994 and was instrumental in the development of Genesys Regional Medical Center. As a specialist in pediatrics and adolescent medicine, Dr. Del Rosario has provided quality, compassionate care for generations of families in the Flint community. She will be greatly missed by staff, colleagues and patients.
Dr. Vaniawala completed her pediatric residency at Hurley Medical Center in Flint. She has been an active member of the Genesys medical staff for over five years, including the pediatric urgent care and pediatric inpatient hospitalist program.
Dr. Vaniawala is accepting new patients. She is committed to the healthcare needs of all children and adolescents in Flint and neighboring communities. The Genesys Downtown Flint Health Center is located at 420 South Saginaw Street, Flint.
