Hosted by 2020 Grand Marshall, Tony Vance, this annual fundraiser featured Irish food, a silent auction, live music by Black Sheep, prize raffles, a live auction with Red Beard the Irish Auctioneer, and the Miss Hibernia Scholarship Pageant. This year’s winner was Bridget Cassidy. Congratulations to all the contestants!

Voices for Children partnered with many other community leaders to honor a group of individuals, businesses, government agencies and organizations that are doing good things for Genesee County children. With this event, the Children’s Champion Awards celebrated 25 years of honoring ordinary people for doing extraordinary things.

Fans of arts education gathered at the FIM to support the Seeing Stars! Tuition Assistance Program for those who may not otherwise have the chance to study at the Flint School of Performing Arts. The event featured a strolling buffet and wine sampling, a silent auction and an FSPA student showcase performance in MacArthur Recital Hall followed by a champagne and dessert reception.

This 4th annual fundraising event bene tted the LAFF Pathway and featured a silent auction, cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, a dessert and s’mores bar, live music by Driven and a Grand Prize drawing. New this year, attendees were able to add a VIP tour of Fenton Winery & Brewery, getting a behind-thescenes look at the brewing business.

Music enthusiasts braved wet and blustery weather to attend a family-friendly and educational program offered by the Flint Symphony Orchestra. Attendees interacted with FSO musicians and could play real orchestra instruments before experiencing the excitement of a live classical matinee concert in the auditorium. Guest Cellist, Anthony Ross, performed pieces by Dvořák and Brahms and Family Day participants were invited to go backstage during intermission.

Frankenmuth has hosted one of North America’s top snow-sculpting events for the past 28 years. Thousands of attendees enjoyed World Class Double and Single Block Snow Sculpting Championships, State of Michigan Snow Sculpting Competition, High School Snow Sculpting Competition, 100-Block Ice Carving Exhibition and U.S. National Collegiate Ice Carving Competition. The frosty and family-friendly event also featured a warming tent, fireworks display, petting zoo and kids’ activities.

Hosted by the Ed Constable Realtor Team, this event raised funds for the Brad Stone Memorial Scholarship, Safari Club’s Wish Hunt and Clara’s Hope. Dressed in their PJs and other creative ensembles, revelers braved the frigid afternoon temperatures and rode party busses to eight Fenton pub stops to enjoy libations while raising $5,000 to support these charities.

Hosted by the McLaren Flint Foundation and Presenting Sponsor, McLaren Cardiac & Thoracic Surgery, this elegant charity gala raised funds to support the Family Birthing Place at McLaren Flint. Attendees enjoyed a social hour, silent auction, dinner and dancing with entertainment by Nightline Band.

This yearly diversity initiative held at the FIA was presented in conjunction with the opening of the “Community” exhibition in celebration of Black History Month. The evening featured a lecture by Dr. Kelli Morgan, assistant curator at the Indianapolis Museum of Art at Newfields, entitled “A Manner of Space: Black Modality in African American Art” followed by gallery opening, a strolling dinner and live entertainment.

The YMCA Santa Run/Walk presented by Al Serra Auto Plaza, is an untimed 5K and mile event for the entire community. Each participant was presented with their very own Santa suit to wear in honor of the season. All proceeds benefitted the YMCA!

At this year’s ceremony, eight individuals and three teams were honored for their past athletic achievements. The 2019 inductees to the Greater Flint Area Sports Hall of Fame are: Ivan Williams, Herb Orvis, Dianne Hackett, Mark Bauman, William Waters, Geena (Gall) Levoe, Julie Roberts Decker, Ron Myers, the 1974 Northern Men’s Cross-Country team, the 1995 Lake Fenton Softball team and the 1969 St. Michael’s Football team. Congratulations to all!

This annual benefit for Whaley Children’s Center was themed “Fire and Ice” and featured fire breathers, dancers, ice sculptures and a VIP igloo. Guests enjoyed a night of mirth, music, drinks and laughter at a party so hot only the coolest survived!
