Who remembers walking into Dale’s Natural Foods when it was located in Downtown Flint, being greeted by the delightful aroma of freshly made caramel corn, caramel apples and an array of sweet candy? Those were the good ‘ole days, according to Drew Wolfe, third generation manager of Dale’s Natural Foods, now located at the Somerset Town Centre on Miller Road, but the day is still good when you can get tasty, wholesome and fresh foods at this local icon.
Many of you have enjoyed the stories of rock ’n roll provided to My City Magazine each month by Flint native and godfather of Flint rock radio, Peter C. Cavanaugh. Amidst the trophies populating Cavanaugh’s brilliant career lays one of the foremost examples of rock radio done right and a pioneer of album-oriented rock: the once christened “Flint’s Best Rock” station, WWCK 105.5.
As the summer of ’69 moved along after our first Sherwood Forest “Wild Wednesday” concert in Davison, I started promoting regular live shows at the Center Building in Lapeer, the Owosso Armory, the Saginaw Auditorium, The “Big Wheel” Roller Rink in Bay City and the Midland County Fairgrounds.
