An Infinite GodDo you ever look in awe at the expanse of the night sky that stretches beyond human comprehension?

Have you viewed pictures from the Hubble Telescope, like the Tapestry of Blazing Starbirth or the Ring Nebula, that light up the darkness with bursts of magnificent color? Have you pondered the quantity of stars—too numerous to count? Have you paused to wonder what it’s all for? What are we to learn or understand from it? Is there purpose in it all? Is there something, or someone, out there?

The Bible answers this question with a resounding yes. It asserts that the vastness and majesty of space are not simply to provoke wonder and awe, but to serve as a declaration of truth to humanity. Psalm 19:1–3 says, “The heavens are telling of the glory of God; and their expanse is declaring the work of His hands. Day to day pours forth speech, and night to night reveals knowledge.”

Everything you see in the sky, in space, and in the world around you declares the existence of God and reveals the knowledge of His glory. Creation is the very work of His hands, from the intricate snowflake to the complexity of the human body to the incomprehensible depths of outer space. God’s fingerprints are evident in all of creation.

Everything you see in the sky, in space, and in the world around you declares the existence of God and reveals the knowledge of His glory.

The awe and wonder that inspire us when we behold the night sky or take in a breathtaking sunset are meant, in a small way, to reflect back to God, who is majestic in glory and incomparable in power. It is a subtle invitation that beckons you to look beyond the beauty of creation and seek the face of the God who created it all.

Though God is infinite in power and majesty, He is not distant or detached. In fact, Scripture reveals a God who is intimately acquainted with every step you take. He sees your worries and doubts, your fears, triumphs, and failures. He loves you with an everlasting love that cannot be tarnished or diminished. Beyond this, He is accessible to each of us, and He invites you to know Him just as He knows you.

In Jeremiah 29:13, God states, “You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.”
If there’s something deep in your soul longing to know your Creator, seek for Him as you would search for a prized treasure. Ask Him to reveal Himself to you and He has promised He will do so. That longing in your soul cannot be satisfied with any earthly thing; only God can quench its thirst. Seek Him with all your heart, and you will find Him.
