It’s fall! The leaves are starting to change, the weather is cool. There is no better way to celebrate the season than taking the kids out for an afternoon at the apple orchard. Here are of few of My City’s favorites.

 

Almar Orchards & Cidery

1431 Duffield Rd., Flushing

Almar Orchard is fifth-generation owned and is one of the largest organic orchards in the U.S. As well as organic apples, Almar Orchard also produces world-class hard cider, Scrumpy, and an old-fashioned, organic energy drink – Haybaler Switchel. They also offer a variety of activities, hayrides, doughnuts, free tastings. Get your running shoes on and participate in the Scrumpy Skedaddle Orchard Run on the first Sunday in October.

 

Montrose Orchards

12473 Seymour Rd., Montrose

There are a lot of fall activities at Montrose Orchards — apples, cider, hayrides, pumpkins, kids’ games and more. Hay rides are every Saturday until October 20. Trunk or Treat on October 20 from 3:30 to 4:30pm. You will also find a variety of goodies — pies, muffins, caramel apples and more!  Montrose Orchards is a place to make family memories.

 

Porter’s Orchard

12060 Hegel Rd., Goodrich

Porter’s is a family-owned third generation orchard. You can enjoy their famous cider doughnuts and their award-winning apple cider and, of course, a large variety of apples. In the fall you can take a hayride with the kids, visit the corn maize and the petting zoo, and pick your own pumpkins in the pumpkin patch. It’s good old-fashioned fun and farm fresh food at Porter’s Orchard.

 

Diehl’s Orchard and Cider Mill

1479 Ranch Rd., Holly

Diehl’s Orchard has been helping families make memories for over 60 years. The have a large selection of apples, picnic area, hay maze, the Bird Coop and nature activities at The Pond. You can also visit the corn maze or take a hay ride. Enjoy a crisp cool cup of cider and a doughnut and other goodies!

 

Spicer Orchards

10411 Clyde Rd. Fenton

There’s lots of family fun at Spicer Orchards in the fall! Families can enjoy apple picking, wagon rides, face painting, farm animals, corn maize, and goodies from the farm market. In the fall you can enjoy activities such as pumpkin picking, a pig roast, pony rides, train rides, sand art, fresh kettle corn, cider production and delicious doughnuts and apple cider.
