Fenton Concerts in the Park
Bring a lawn chair and/or blanket and enjoy a variety of free music concerts, on Thursday nights, at Fenton’s millpond gazebo with family and friends. Tonight, the band Magic Bus will perform a tribute to the Woodstock Era. Rain location — Fenton Community & Cultural Center, 150 S. Leroy Street. 7-8:30pm. The concert is free!

Concerts at the Valley
Relax and enjoy live music by “Have a Cigar” at Genesee Valley Center’s Outdoor Village. Arrive at 6:30pm and have fun with DJ Psycho before the concert. There is limited seating so, you may want to bring a chair. No outside food or beverages allowed, but food and drinks are available for purchase. 7-9pm. Admission is free.

Late Night at the Flint Institute of Arts
Join the Flint Institute of Arts for Late Night with special drinks and fun events in the Palette Café, along with gallery tours, meditation or yoga in the museum and art projects for kids and adults. Tonight, enjoy self-directed tours of the museum galleries with audio and printed guides, glassblowing demonstrations and a Fashion Film Series: Blow Up in the Theater. Activities are free. The 2019 Vehicle City Gridiron Classic
It’s become a great tradition to open up the new school year and football season with the Gridiron Classic at Atwood Stadium. Support local teams as they go head to head to start the season. On Friday at 4pm, the Grand Blanc Bobcats take on the H. H. Dow Chargers and at 7pm, the Goodrich Martians battle the Flint Powers Catholic Chargers. On Saturday starting at 4pm, the Lakeville Falcons will play the North Branch Broncos and at 7pm, the primetime game will pit the Carman-Ainsworth Cavaliers versus the Port Huron Big Reds.

For-Mar Nature Preserve: Foraging in the Forest
Join a For-Mar park naturalists for some grocery shopping in the woods and learn about some of the common edible and medicinal plants that grow in Flint and in Genesee County. Bring a notepad and a camera to take notes. Recommended for families of all ages. 10am-12pm. Pre-registration required by Aug. 30. $4 per person.

Crossroads Village & Huckleberry Railroad Say Goodbye to Summer

Michigan Renaissance Festival: Vikings Invasion
Take a time-travel adventure into the 16th century where patrons will enjoy the sights and sounds of a 17-acre village complete with building reproductions of Renaissance shops, taverns and a beautiful castle. Continuous entertainment takes place on the streets and on 17 themed stages featuring comedy, theater shows and music. While strolling the village, enjoy a variety of adult and children games, people-powered rides and full-contact armored jousting tournaments. Also, enjoy fabulous food and browse the Crafter Marketplace where over 300 artisans display their gallery-quality works for sale.
