There is still time to sign-up for, or donate to, Genesee County’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s taking place this Saturday (September 28) at 11 am at UM-Flint White Building Lawn. Registration can be done online or starting at 10:00 am on Saturday. Donations can be made online at act.alz.org.

The Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s is held in more than 600 communities across the nation and is the world’s largest event designed to raise awareness of the affliction. More than 75% of the funds raised are put towards Alzheimer’s research, care and support. Alzheimer’s has never been cured and currently affects over 5.8 million people in the United States. Alzheimer’s is the sixth leading cause of death. It is a brain disorder that destroys brain function beginning with memory and is debilitating for both those suffering, and their loving families.

This year’s Genesee County walk currently has over 500 participants but needs more to reach the fundraising goal of $130,000. The team is half way there. Please take the time to visit the Genesee County Walk to End Alzheimer’s contribution page and donate at https://act.alz.org/site/TR/Walk2019/MI-GreaterMichigan?fr_id=12622&pg=entry

The world awaits its first Alzheimer’s survivor and only our help can make it happen.

Thank you.
