Hurley Medical Center in Flint is proud to announce that Dr. Marc Moisi, director of neurosurgery at Hurley Medical Center, has been elected president of the Michigan Association of Neurosurgeons (MANS). Dr. Moisi will serve a two-year term leading Michigan’s statewide neurosurgical society, which continues to advance neurosurgical care and collaboration across hospitals and institutions.

His election as president on August 12 reflects both his commitment to advancing the field and the high regard in which he is held by his peers statewide.
At Hurley Medical Center, Dr. Moisi has served as director of neurosurgery since 2021. Together with neurosurgeon Dr. Christian Bowers, he provides patients with access to advanced surgical care at the Hurley Neurological Center, including:
- Minimally invasive and complex spine procedures
- Neurotrauma care
- Neuro-oncology surgery
- Advanced cranial procedures
- Comprehensive management of neurological emergencies
Dr. Moisi also plays an integral role in Hurley’s Level I Trauma Center, where his expertise ensures patients throughout the region receive immediate, world-class neurosurgical care in critical situations.
“We are incredibly proud of Dr. Moisi’s leadership at Hurley and now across the state as president of MANS,” said John Stewart, service line administrator. “His dedication to advancing neurosurgery, expanding patient access, and mentoring the next generation of surgeons will continue to benefit patients not just here at Hurley, but across Michigan.”
Dr. Moisi’s presidency at MANS will focus on strengthening collaboration between Michigan’s hospitals and neurosurgeons, expanding access to state-of-the-art procedures, and ensuring the society continues to flourish as a leader in neurosurgical care and education.
The Michigan Association of Neurosurgeons (MANS) mission is to promote neurosurgery and the betterment of the public health by encouraging unity and cooperation, improving business conditions, and fostering the common business interests of members of the medical profession residing in the State of Michigan specializing in neurological surgery.
MANS was founded over 50 years ago, by a small group of Michigan neurosurgeons. They have planned over 40 annual scientific meetings for members to congregate in one location to learn the latest and greatest neurosurgery procedures and best practices.
