“O afflicted one, storm-tossed and not comforted.”
I wonder if these words from Isaiah the prophet describe your life and soul right now. Many people’s lives are marked by a simmering pain – like a boat lost at sea that cannot reach the shore, there is a weight upon their heart that pleads for a comfort that never comes. The soul of man longs to be cleansed of past mistakes as much as to be at peace about what happens when we pass from this life to the next. Far too many people live their lives every day without having either.
The word gospel means good news.
Jesus once asked a man, “Do you wish to be complete?”
While we try and fail to remedy our despair with accomplishment, relationships, money and experiences, there is still good news. We can be made complete. Completely forgiven. Completely restored. Completely at peace and assured of our eternity.
There is one way.
This way is not through church attendance, religious tradition, or ritual.
The soul of man longs to be cleansed of past mistakes as much as to be at peace about what happens when we pass from this life to the next.
The way to peace, joy, mercy and grace you are looking for is through faith in Jesus Christ.Your faith and no one else’s.
Have you ever taken the time to sit alone in the presence of Jesus and call upon Him to save you? The Bible promises, “If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord and believe in your heart God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”
If the Spirit of God is beckoning to your storm-tossed soul right now, I encourage you to respond by faith.
