The inaugural First Responders Baseball Tournament was played to honor local frontline workers. The tournament welcomed teams from around the state in the 8u, 9u, 10u, 11u, 12u and 13u age brackets. Congratulations to the champions!
Hosted by the Grand Blanc Chamber of Commerce, the golf outing supported the Grand Blanc Township and City police departments’ “Cops, Kids & K-9s” youth programs. The weather was fine and each team had a great day.
Co-sponsored by TCF Bank and Little Caesars, the B2B 2020 Road Rally attracted more than 400 classic cars for a cruise that ran nearly 150 miles through multiple small towns and cities. Drivers had fun showing off their vehicles and taking part in a visual scavenger hunt. All registration fees were donated to Whaley Children’s Center.
Presented by McLaren, the 2020 Ally Challenge took place with pro golfers giving their best despite the lack of the usual gallery of cheering spectators. This year’s champion was Jim Furyk who shot 14 under par. Congrats!
Themed “World Showcase,” this exciting fundraiser featured a cocktail reception, live entertainment and “Wondrous World” appetizer and dessert stations. Proceeds benefit Hurley’s Obstetrics Department including the Mother/Baby and Labor & Delivery Units.
Furry-friend supporters dressed up and turned out on Leap Year Day to benefit Adopt-A-Pet Fenton at their annual fundraising dinner and auction. Themed, “Hollywood Impawsonators,” the evening started with cocktails and a silent auction, followed by dinner and a live auction with Interim Genesee County Sheriff, Chris Swanson doing the honors. Prizes were given to the best-dressed “impawsonators” and an After-Glow Party completed the evening of fun and entertainment.
My City Magazine hosted a “spirited” group who gathered to enjoy a taste of eight different aged rums accompanied by delicious appetizers and lively conversation. Matt Brzezinski of Benchmark Beverage educated the tasters about the origin and creation of each rum featured. Proceeds from the event were donated to Adopt-A-Pet Fenton.
Congratulations! Genesee County Habitat for Humanity celebrated 30 years of making a difference with a festive event featuring live music and delicious food and desserts. The night also honored Margaret Kato, executive director for 15 years, for her work and retirement, and welcomed new Executive Director, Thomas Hutchison. Each attendee received a handmade glass plate from artist Suellen Parker of Case Island Glass.
The 5th annual indoor car show was a welcome break from the cold of winter. This year’s event featured a Corvette from each generation, including a sneak-peek at the 2020 model. The rest of the show featured more than 125 classic, vintage and muscle vehicles including the new Rat Rod Alley, more than 50 sponsors and vendors, live entertainment by country crooner Dave Lagness, and live classic rock by the 3rd Degree Burns.
