Jadyn and Josh Iid’s LOVE STORY

How and when did you first meet?

We met in 2019 at The Freedom Center Church in Fenton. For about a year, we knew of each other but had no interest in dating anyone because our lives were too busy with work and school. Near the end of 2020, it suddenly became evident that we were two really good friends who always had the most fun together, which is the perfect beginning to a forever friendship and marriage. Naturally, we started dating.

 Tell us about the proposal.

Josh had a few ideas of where to propose, all meaningful and memorable locations that were personally tied to our relationship. However, the engagement ring was ready to be picked up just two days before we, along with a group of friends, flew to Florida for a friend’s vacation. With two of the friends being photographers, it was the perfect opportunity!
One of our friends had connections to a private beach with a gorgeous ocean view, and since the plan was always to take couple photos on the beach, I didn’t suspect a thing. That is, until I saw Josh’s shadow on the sand as he got down on one knee. I quickly spun around and, of course, said yes!

 Tell us about the wedding.

We got married in 2023 at the perfect location, Schmelter Stoney Acres in Linden. We will never regret our decision to have a very small, private wedding ceremony in the morning on a peaceful private lake with immediate family and our bridal party, followed by a big reception later in the evening with extended family and friends in the barn/pavilion.
Having a wedding like this kept a special intimacy for Josh and me during our ceremony, giving us a beautiful day that felt more personal and less stressful, while still allowing us to have a blast dancing and eating with everyone who loves and celebrates us.
Also, having mini marshmallows thrown at us as we exited was definitely a core memory!

What do you cherish most about each other?

Jadyn: What I cherish most about Josh would definitely be his ability to make life enjoyable. Obviously, life is not always easy, but even in difficult times or when I’m in a bad mood, he always finds a way to make me laugh and have fun. He’s very optimistic and hopeful about God’s goodness and blessings toward us, which truly is a breath of fresh air. I am blessed not just to have him as a husband, but as a best friend as well.
Josh: What I cherish most about Jadyn is that she has an adventurous heart. I love that we get to go on fun trips and explore the wilderness together. She also gets really excited about the simple little things in nature, and it’s really cute.

Got any sweet, funny, or just plain awesome details you want to share?

We are just two best friends who complement each other well. We choose to love each other even when we don’t feel like it, choose marriage even when it’s difficult, choose to forgive, trust in the Lord, stay committed to one another, be on the same team, defend each other, laugh and be silly together.
It’s all a bunch of choices, not always easy ones, but at the end of the day, it’s always worth it!
