When we look back on our memories, big moments tend to stand out. But many of the things we cherish most are the small, everyday details: a certain song, a favorite smell, a tree, an evening. They may not take up much space in our lives, but they leave an undeniable imprint on our hearts and minds. Deer Park Vintage Co. understands the value of these moments—and they’re ready to share that experience with anyone willing to seek it out.
History and Purpose
Long before the vintage and antiques store came to be, Deer Park was a lush, green space in Grand Blanc, known for the deer that wandered there. In the early 2000s, the park was renamed “Heritage Park” as retail businesses moved in. What had once been a natural gathering space became a place to run errands and leave. Progress can be good, but the loss of Deer Park was felt deeply by the community.
Savannah Meksto was one such member. During a trip to Paris with her husband, Dave Faerber, wandering the streets and boutiques, inspiration struck: why not open a similar shop back home? One that brings people together through the simple joys of life that big businesses can’t replicate. The result: Deer Park Vintage Co., which held its grand opening in April 2025. As Savannah explains, the store was “created as a tribute to what Deer Park once represented: connection, creativity, and the idea that small, meaningful places still matter.”
Deer Park Vintage Co. offers a wide variety of items, from vintage clothes, records, and decor to handmade candles, skincare, and soaps. With a consistently rotating stock, there’s always something new to discover. Beyond preserving local history, the store celebrates community, sustainability, and individuality—all at an affordable price. Savannah shares the personal significance behind these missions:
“I grew up here, and I didn’t have a lot of money, but I always loved thrifting and finding creative ways to express myself. That’s really where my love for vintage started. I wanted to build something… something that gives back to the same community that shaped who I am.”

With the holiday season in full swing, giving is at the forefront. Deer Park helps patrons find the perfect gifts, whether vintage ornaments and cozy pajamas for themselves or “Blind Date with a Record” and “Blind Date with a Book:
Holiday Edition” for loved ones. There’s something for everyone to feel the warm embrace of the holidays.
Reconnecting with Others, the Outside World, and Ourselves
Antiques aren’t the only way Deer Park Vintage Co. brings the community together. This winter, the store will host after-hours shopping nights and pop-ups with local makers. Spring promises larger outdoor events, such as a clothes swap and a vintage market. Keep an eye out—you won’t want to miss them.
While renovations are ongoing, Deer Park also operates an Airbnb on Lake Huron, providing small families a chance to reconnect with nature, slow down, and embrace Michigan’s charm—and themselves—as they step away from modern distractions.
Moving Forward Without Forgetting
Deer Park Vintage Co. isn’t just about vintage items at affordable prices—they offer opportunities to connect with people and the world around us, while exploring our own sense of self. It’s an intimate space “to build community, not competition,” as Savannah says, “and to remind people that shopping small can be beautiful, meaningful, and fun.”
Plans for the future include more events and collaborations with local artists, expanding the online storefront, and becoming a place where anyone can wander in and discover inspiration. Savannah reflects:
“Grand Blanc has always been home. I’ve lived in other places, but this is where I came back to, where I’m raising my kids, and where it felt important to build my business. Grand Blanc is a small community with big potential, full of families, creative people, and neighbors who show up for each other when it matters most.”
As she and her family work together at Deer Park, Savannah invites everyone to experience the love and care she has poured into the store.

Savannah poses here with her children, Cassidy, Ryder, and Esther. Cassidy and Ryder both work in the shop, with Cassidy as the general manager.
