From Jan. 2-Feb. 28 visit the Longway Planetarium to explore the night sky over Michigan everyday at 3pm. Learn about the rotation of Earth, how to find the North Star, which constellations and planets are visible in your backyard tonight, and much more. Recommended for ages 6 and older.

Akeelah has a crazy passion for words: the more abstruse and labyrinthine, the better. But this gift is almost overwhelmed by the challenge of her daily life in a tough, Chicago neighborhood. Akeelah’s aptitude earns her a spot in the National Spelling Bee, which inspires the people in her neighborhood with her courage and tenacity. Friday and Saturday 7-9pm

The Flint Firebirds will play against the Saginaw Spirit. The Firebirds are part of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) and represent a continuation of Flint’s rich hockey tradition. 7-9pm.

Come try this amazing sport of Sled Hockey. U.S.A. Hockey certified coaches and volunteers will be on the ice to ensure a great time. All equipment provided. Please arrive 30 minutes early for equipment fitting and a brief introduction. 1:30-2:30pm.
