Fri. Dec. 8 Flushing Holiday Candle-walk

This annual Flushing tradition began over 30 years ago and has grown into one of the country’s largest events. Thousands of softly glowing candles will light the way along the streets of Flushing. Enjoy holiday music provided by local singers and choirs, along with ice sculptures, wood carvings, live performances, “Lionel” train display, s’mores, refreshments, horse-drawn wagon rides and more. You’ll find chestnuts roasting on an open fire in the middle of Main Street, warming stations and Santa arriving in a grand parade to light the ceremonial tree.

Dec. 8-Dec. 30 Longway Planetarium: Cosmic Christmas

Enjoy a Christmas light show made right here at Longway Planetarium. This show features 16 songs to fill you with cheer, including holiday classics, some new hits, and a few fun oddities, all set to stunning 4k visuals in a festival of Christmas splendor. Recommended for ages 6 and older. Daily at 4pm and Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7pm. Closed Dec. 24, 25, 31.

Fri. Dec. 8-10 The Fenton Village Players: The Best Christmas Pageant Ever

Enjoy this comedy that follows the outrageous shenanigans of the Herdman siblings, or “the worst kids in the history of the world.” The siblings take over the annual Christmas pageant in this hilarious and heartwarming tale involving the Three Wise Men, a ham, scared shepherds and six rowdy kids. This beloved TV classic soars off the screen and onto the stage this holiday season. Sat. Dec. 9 Clio Cast & Crew: The One and Only Santa Claus

Live in your living room, it’s your favorite TV show, American Profiles! When a family is startled to find host Yul Tide in their living room on Christmas morning, the show begins. In a series of hilarious and heart-warming sketches, Yul Tide and co-host Chrystal Flakes explore what Santa Claus really represents while introducing various people who know and love him. 2:30-4:30pm.
