FIM and FSPA Seeing Stars!

Seeing Stars! is the Flint School of Performing Arts’ signature fundraising event. Since its inception in 1997, this event has been vital in raising nearly $3,000,000 in tuition assistance to ensure students have the opportunity to realize their music or dance dreams regardless of family circumstances. Come enjoy a strolling buffet of signature dishes provided by restaurants throughout Genesee County and leave with an understanding of your impact on the students from the Flint School of Performing Arts music and dance programs. Seating is limited to 200. 6-9pm.

Free community skating at UM-Flint Pavilion weather permitting Call (810) 762-3441 to confirm rink status and hours. Rink is cleared periodically for ice resurfacing. Annual Black History Month Brunch

The Genesee District Library is hosting its Black History Month Brunch. The library will be celebrating the accomplishments and contributions of the following honorees: Melinda Anderson – Award of Excellence, Recco Richardson – Award of Excellence, Mayor Karen Weaver – Award of Excellence and The Ivy House – Partner in Progress Award. This year’s entertainment will be Worship Leader and Stellar Award Winner, Casey J. 10am-12pm. Proceeds from this ticketed event helps fund GDL’s Summer Reading Challenge that reaches over 10,000 children and their families annually.
