Trending … and NOT Wedding Moments

0

If there’s one thing we can count on to change, it’s wedding trends! From dahlias to drones, couples are having more fun than ever with ways to make their special day memorable.

Unplugged Ceremonies

This trend is gaining traction, as couples decide to discourage – politely – taking of cell phone photos during the ceremony. This can be done with a request posted on a tasteful sign, or by having the officiant announce it a few minutes prior to beginning. The reception, of course, is another story and sharing will be welcome!

Golden Glow

Gold accents are adding warmth and elegance to everything from invitations to tablescapes and reception décor.

Flower Power

Replacing blush-tone neutrals are brighter, 70s-inspired colors like purple, orange and yellow that infuse vibrancy into bouquets and décor. Colors are no longer seasonal, inviting use of rich hues any time of year. Large, bright blooms like dahlias are trending – versatile and showy.

Make it Personal

Of course, the DIY trend continues to explode – even the least crafty bride can add fun, personal touches to décor and favors.

Let’s face it: drone photos are cool! The trend continues to grow; but keep in mind there is liability and they require proper licensing, insurance and extensive training.

… and NOT

The dinner buffet will never totally disappear, but more couples are opting to spread out the menu items and add interest by creating food stations, such as desserts and “build-your-own ___.”

In 2019, the traditional “getaway car” will be less popular – get creative and use this element to add another layer of personalization. A golf cart or scooter, perhaps?
