Bauman’s Running & Walking Shop has been custom-fitting shoes for runners, walkers and people with special needs since 1974, according to Owner Mark Bauman. From humble beginnings selling running shoes from a trunk — to the local running scene back in the early 70s to the Greater Flint Area’s largest specialty running store — Bauman’s Running & Walking Shop is your one-stop shop for everything running and walking.
Due to the COVID 19 Pandemic, the store is only open for virtual fittings, curbside and online sales. “And we’re doing pretty well with that,” Bauman reports. They plan to re-open as soon as restrictions are
lifted which, could happen as early as the end of May. The shop is constantly working on getting all of their in-store products online at the most competitive pricing allowed.
The shop has some regular customers that have helped keep the business going, Bauman shares. When it was first shut down in March, Bauman’s had a rush of people buying gift certificates. “They can redeem them when we open back up. We are very appreciative of our customers and we appreciate their support.”
Bauman’s Running & Walking Shop has a special promotion. If a customer makes a purchase of over $100, they will receive a $20 gift certificate that is good for a future purchase at Bauman’s or at one of five local restaurants including: Mario’s, Latina’s, Pesto’s, Tim Horton’s or Subway.
