From Ruth Mott’s recipe collection, try your hand at these scrumptious oatmeal cookies. Don’t forget to pair with apple juice!
Ingredients
2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup shortening
2 cups chopped apples
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
3 cups rolled oats
To Make
- Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and baking soda. Set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, blend both sugars and shortening. Add in eggs and vanilla.
- Combine both mixtures.
- Fold in rolled oats.
- Place mixture by spoonfuls on greased cookie sheet. Bake 15 minutes in a 350-degree oven.
