Greater Flint Olympian Open Ceremonies Ringing in the 60th Year

Summer time means that once again the Greater Flint Olympian and CANUSA Games are underway. This year, they are celebrating 60 years of the Greater Flint Olympian games and the 59th year of the CANUSA Games.

July 12th, marked the opening ceremonies for the Greater Flint Olympian Games. Commencing from Northwestern High School’s Guy V. Houston Stadium, Flint and Genesee County residents and athletes joined together to kick off this summer’s games.

The Greater Flint Olympian and CANUSA Games Appreciation and Recognition Dinner will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 746 Saginaw Street in Flint. Everyone is invited! The reception will begin at 5:30pm, dinner will be at 6pm, and the Awards and Recognition Program will be at 7pm. Please RSVP at 810-760-5252.

The GFOCA Golf Outing will be held at IMA Brookwood, 6045 Davison Road in Burton. There will be a 9am shotgun start with an Awards and Dinner Program at 2:30pm. Contact Carlos Benton or Chris Daly for details at 810-760-5252.

 

August 5-7, 2016

The 59th CANUSA Games will be held in Hamilton, Canada at the Bernie Arbour Stadium. The Program will begin at 12 noon and the competition schedule is TBA. Closing ceremonies will be held on Sunday, August 7 at 9am at Mohawk College.

The Greater Flint Olympian and CANUSA Games office is located at Flint Southwester Classical Academy, 1420 W. 12th Street. Office hours are 8:30am to 4:30pm.
