On December 7, three great area basketball players, a very successful college coach, an outstanding hockey player and a multi-sport prep coach were inducted into the Greater Flint Area Sports Hall of Fame at the Genesys Athletic Club.
Mateen Cleaves, Terence Greene, Larry Hackett, Pete Hanson, Bobby Reynolds and Al Sigman are the latest individual inductees. Famed Flint Northern Coach and Athletic Director, Jim Fowler received the Special Services Award.
Three teams were also recognized, including the 1980-81 Borden’s Softball teams representing the non-scholastic category. Filling the scholastic team category are the 1961 Flint Junior College Cross Country team and the 1984-85 Mt. Morris Girls Softball teams.
