“From Mexico to Michigan” this Weekend Genesee County Historical Society Presents

This Saturday, February 22, the Genesee County Historical Society will present “From Mexico to Michigan” at the Eastern Food Bank of Michigan from 10:30am to 12:30pm. This is a free event but attendees absolutely MUST RSVP as seating and resources are limited. In this unique program food and history are combined to tell a story. Follow one family’s journey from Mexico to Genesee County and all the struggles and triumphs therein. Learn about the Mexican culture and how Genesee County accepts those looking for a new way of life. A cooking demonstration will also take place, teaching attendees the art of making authentic enchiladas.

Greater Flint is a diverse area, filled with those from all countries and groups working together to make a better home for all. Everyone comes from a unique and thrilling background and it should be celebrated. We are stronger together than apart. Attend the event and learn about those that make the journey from Mexico to Michigan!
