Financial Plus Credit Union has donated $2,500 to the United Way of Genesee County to help the Flint City Water Crisis. The funds that were donated will help purchase water filters, bottled water, emergency support services and prevention efforts for Flint City residents. The check was presented on Tuesday, February 2nd at Financial Plus’s main office.

Senior Vice President of Financial Plus, Olga Long, says: “Our hearts go out to everyone in the community who has been affected by the water crisis. Through our donation, we hope to help many families in the City of Flint and will continue to support in any way we can during this difficult time.”

Through monetary donations from the community, the United Way of Genesee County has provided more than 11,000 filter systems and 5,000 replacement filters to support his cause. Funds will also be donated to the Flint Child Health and Development Fund, a fund which offers support and intervention to children and families to help reach positive health outcomes.
