This Sunday, February 23, the Flint Symphonic Wind Ensemble will perform at the Mayfair Bible Church located at 5339 W. Pierson Rd. in Flushing. The music will start at 3pm. Admission to the show is FREE.
While under the direction of Mr. Chris Anderson, the 50-piece band will play selections from “An American in Paris,” “Les Misérables,” “The Phantom of the Opera” and more.
The FSWE began in 1966 as the “Flint Civic Wind Ensemble” organized by Donald C. Clough and sponsored by the Flint Community Music Association. The mission of the organization is to provide access to practice and performance for adult musicians, and to provide music education and entertainment for the community. The FSWE offers approximately 6 or more concerts per year in high schools, middle schools and multiple venues throughout the city.
The band is open to adults, aged 19 or over, who can read music and attend the practice and performance schedule of the band.
