The entire family will be captivated as they travel down the Yellow Brick Road and beyond with Dorothy, Toto and friends, the Cowardly Lion, Tin Man and Scarecrow in this lavish production featuring breathtaking special effects, dazzling choreography and classic songs.

Nov. 24-Dec. 30: Longway Planetarium Cosmic Christmas

Enjoy a Christmas light show made right here at Longway Planetarium. This show features 16 songs to fill you with cheer, including holiday classics, some new hits, and a few fun oddities, all set to stunning 4k visuals in a festival of Christmas splendor. Recommended for ages 6 and older. Daily at 4pm and Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7pm. (Closed Dec. 24, 25, 31.)

Sat. Nov. 25: Flint Institute of Music Nutcracker Tea

Join us at the Flint Institute of Music in the Anderson Room and be transported to the magical Land of the Sweets in the world of Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker! You’ll enjoy this memorable afternoon with lunch catered by Fandangle’s including amazing desserts, tea and hot chocolate! This wonderful experience will make any child’s dreams come true with visits from characters of the Nutcracker ballet, story hour during lunch, face painting and cookie decorating as well as an opportunity to dance like your favorite characters! 1-2:30pm Tickets are no longer available online. Sun. Nov. 26: Flint Firebirds Hockey Game

The Flint Firebirds will play against the Kingston Frontenacs. The Firebirds are part of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) and represent a continuation of Flint’s rich hockey tradition. 4-6pm.

Nov. 24-26: 44th Holly Dickens Festival

Step back in time this holiday season to the days of Charles Dickens’, and become part of “A Christmas Carol.” Stroll the streets of Holly and visit the unique shops, and dine the eateries. Your senses will be filled with smells of roasting chestnuts and hot chocolate. Lose yourself in the music of Christmas carols sung on the streets, the colors and decorations of the shops, and feel the warmth of friends and neighbors. The festival runs three weekends beginning with a lighted parade, the arrival of Santa Claus and a tree-lighting ceremony. Holly truly comes alive every Christmas season!
