McCree Theater presents: Clique the Stage Play

Clique was written as a stage play that beautifully employs poetry and rhyme while following the in-school lives of five prototypical groups: The athletes, the popular pretty girls, the tough guys, the tough girls, and the geeks. The characters struggle with identity, self-esteem, peer pressure, acceptance and bullying.

George is the new kid in a school where no one knows him. Discontent with being labeled a “geek” at his last school, he is determined to use this new opportunity to reinvent himself and finally become cool. George concocts a social formula consisting of a change of clothing, speech, and manner to simply will himself into popularity. He soon learns that it is not so easy as both external and internal opposition thwart his otherwise brilliant plan.7:30-10pm
