Michigan’s Big Country Fest

0

This weekend, running Friday and Saturday is Michigan’s Big Country Fest in Frankenmuth!  Take a quick trip to that lovely Bavarian Village and enjoy the old west in a big way. The festival will be held in Harvey Kern Community Pavilion on Weiss Street and will take place rain or shine.

Dress in your most country attire and show your skills at mechanical bull riding, the cornhole tournament, football bowling or pumpkin stacking. If you’ve always wanted to pull on a pair of boots and line-dance, this weekend is your chance to learn. Two sessions of free line-dancing classes are offered one on each day. When your done with the boot-scoot boogying browse the multiple country paraphernalia vendors on-hand and have a meal courtesy of one of the many food trucks available.

This year four bands will be on hand to regale festival patrons with some country twang. On Friday, the Bill Gunther Band will take the stage followed by national superstar Kari Holmes. On Saturday, Rebel Line breaks open the music followed by Michigan’s own, ShiaTown.

Pull out your boots and spurs, and throw on that authentic cowboy hat you keep in your closet. I reckon, we’re all about ready to get back to country. YEEE, HAAAWW!

The festival runs from 5pm-12am, October 18-19.
