The Flint Farmers’ Market has a new place for fresh, top quality eats!
The Market Deli by Hoffman was recently opened by Mark Hoffman and is located right next to his other business, Hoffman’s Chop Shop. The Chop Shop has become a market favorite by offering a variety of natural, grass-fed beef and other meat and seafood products. The space next to the Chop Shop became available when the previous vendor, Thompson Creek Turkey Farm, closed last fall after the business owner passed away. Former Thompson Creek customers will be happy to know that Mark is offering many of the same Thompson Creek turkey products and other menu favorites – with a Hoffman twist. “Thompson Creek had a great following of loyal customers,” explained Mark, “which is what motivated me to take over the place.”
At the Market Deli, customers will find delicious turkey products such as fresh ground turkey meats, brats, hot dogs and a variety of sliced sandwich meats. “Our deli meats are all natural and nitrate free – from the salami to the turkey,” says Mark. On the menu, hungry customers will find yummy turkey burgers, steaming hot bowls of turkey chili, brats, Coney dogs and freshly made deli sandwiches, to name just a few. Mark has also added a turkey rotisserie. He says that one food item he felt was missing at the Flint Farmers’ Market was side salads to accompany sandwiches and burgers. So, Market Deli by Hoffman offers a variety that includes couscous salad, quinoa salad, zesty bow tie pasta, loaded potato salad and a chopped kale salad served with house-made vinaigrette. “Everything is fresh and made to order!” exclaims Mark.
With the opening of the new deli, Mark added six people to the payroll, including two former veteran Thompson Creek Turkey Farm staff, Dawn and Charlene, who bring years of experience with them. “I’m honored and grateful for the opportunity to take on this new venture,” says Mark, “and to offer high-quality products to the Flint Farmers’ Market!”
