Go Fund Me for Krystal Jo’s Diner/Bike Giveaway

For the past seven years, Krystal Jo’s Diner/Bike Giveaway has put a free bicycle in the hands of a child in Flint and surrounding towns within Genesee County. Nearly 5,000 children have benefited from this program and due to COVID 19, fundraising has become very challenging and funds are exhausted, according to Tony Tucker, owner of the Flint diner and founder of the Bike Giveaway.

But things are a little different this year due to the COVID 19 pandemic and a personal injury. Tucker has been working tirelessly to get caught up and injured himself in the process. He recently started a
Go Fund Me page to help compensate a few people he picked to help finish all the bikes that need repair. Any funds collected will be used for compensation for his helpers and to purchase bicycle parts.

According to Krystal Jo’s Diner Facebook page, although there is no fundraiser this year, there will be a bike giveaway with a date yet to be determined. Even the smallest donation is appreciated. “One way or another this event will go on,” Tucker stated, “and we will be sure to follow the safety guidelines set to us in regards to COVID-19.”
