GivingTuesday December 3, 2019

First there is Black Friday, then Cyber Monday. The big day, however, is GivingTuesday, which is Tuesday, Dec. 3 for 2019.  GivingTuesday, held on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, is a global generosity movement unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities. It was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Over the past seven years, this idea has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.

One of the best ways to get involved is in your own community. Here are a few places in the Greater Flint area that have joined in the giving movement.

Flint Kids GivingTuesday

Make a real impact on the lives of Flint kids who have been exposed to lead in their drinking water. Gifts made on Tuesday, Dec. 3, from 12am to Midnight, will be matched 1:1 by the Coverys Community Healthcare Foundation, up to $50,000.

The Disability Network

The Disability Network (TDN) is a nonprofit center for independent living that partners with people with disabilities so they can live as independently in the community as possible.
