My City Magazine visited Frankenmuth on January 22 for the opening of Zehnder’s Snowfest to experience the fun side of bitter cold and colossal snow fall. Snow carvers young and old sought to bring their creations to life in the World Class Snow Carving competition and the Children’s Snow Sculpting competition. The U.S. National Collegiate Ice Carving Competition brings in the best of the best, who chip, saw and sculpt fantastical pieces of frozen art. Red-cheeked attendees enjoyed the art and atmosphere, cold weather activities, hot drinks, a petting zoo, fireworks, and of course, the warming tent.
